Flatshare in Nabeul

3 listings found

Living alone in Nabeul governorate is getting more and more expensive, especially on the coast between Nabeul and Hammamet, where rents follow the tourist season. For a student, an intern, a seasonal worker or a young employee, sharing is often the only way to live near work or study without spending half your income on it.

This page brings together every form of shared housing in the governorate: a room in a family home, a place in an apartment, a room in a house let to several people. The listings are posted by private individuals, owners or flatmates, and you contact them directly. Supply varies a lot from week to week and from town to town, which makes an overview useful before narrowing down to one delegation.

Three arrangements, three budgets

A room in a family home is the cheapest and most supervised arrangement. A family lets a furnished room, often with bills included, sometimes with use of the kitchen. It suits someone arriving alone, for a year of study or an internship, who accepts the rules of a house that is not their own.

A place in a shared apartment offers more freedom for a slightly higher cost, especially for students or young professionals of the same age. Finally, a house let to several people suits groups that are already formed, seasonal teams or workers for the same employer, who need many rooms. Each has its own page for the governorate: shared flats and shared houses.

Nabeul and Hammamet, then the rest of the coast

The town of Nabeul remains the main market, thanks to its students, its hospital and its administrations. Renting a room in a family home is a long standing practice there that local families know well, and flatsharing in Nabeul town details the neighbourhoods. In Hammamet, demand comes first from the hotel trade: seasonal staff look for housing from April to October, precisely when owners prefer holidaymakers. Flatsharing in Hammamet shows how seasonal workers manage, by moving away from the tourist zone.

Dar Chaabane El Fehri and Beni Khiar often serve as a fallback: gentler rents, short journeys into Nabeul. Further north, Kelibia and Korba have a limited supply, mostly in summer, linked to restaurants and the port.

Inland and the gateway to Cap Bon

In Grombalia, Soliman and Bou Argoub, shared housing follows industrial jobs and building sites. Workers and technicians coming from other governorates for a contract of a few months look for a room or a place in a house, preferably near the road or a shared taxi (louage) stop. In the farming delegations, Menzel Bouzelfa, Beni Khalled or Menzel Temime, demand is concentrated around harvest time, and offers mostly circulate by word of mouth.

In these towns, a room in a family home often takes a simpler form than in Nabeul: a room on the ground floor of a family house, with its own entrance onto the courtyard, let to a worker or to a teacher posted there for the year. The rent is low, but isolation weighs on you if you have no vehicle. Before accepting, find out the louage times to your workplace, especially in the evening.

Timing, a written agreement and caution

For students, everything happens between late August and October. For seasonal workers on the coast, the search starts in March. Between those two periods, a few places come free, notably after the first university semester, when students leave for internships or move town. It is often the best time to negotiate. In July and August, on the other hand, rooms for rent become rare near the sea, and more expensive when they exist.

Whatever the arrangement, put in writing the amount, what it covers, the duration and the notice period. Pay against a receipt, view before paying anything, and be wary of a listing that asks for a deposit by bank transfer with no viewing possible. To compare with other regions, the page for flatsharing across Tunisia widens the search.
